Tung Chung at Tung Chung on 7 May 2000 The track was moderately difficult which means a lot of exercise. Jackie led our way from Tung Chung to Wong Lung Country Trail to Sunset Peak and back to Tung Chung. The initial path was a tough climb and it got easier as we went along. The weather was pretty decent.

Lantau Island at Lantau Island on 30 Jan 2000 Great turn out of 12 people (glad to see some new faces). We decided that it would take too long to complete the Fan Lau route, so we went to Tai O and walked towards a garden called 'Lung Chai' and a waterfall called 'man cheung' (ten thousand yards). The weather was cool and the walk was enjoyable, though the steep accent at the beginning proved to be very challenging for some. We took a break at the top of the waterfall to have snacks and drinks which was very relaxing indeed. We made use of almost all forms of transportation such as ferry, bus, and MTR (Tung Chung to central).

Lamma Island at Lamma Island on 2000 Meeting place: Meeting after lunch at the pier in Central for the outlying islands (near IFC, HK station of the airport express). Please find the pier for Lamma Island ???. We will take the ferry to one of the two piers of Lamma Island (depending on ferry availability and time). Take a short hike to a beautiful beach that situates in the middle part of the island. Hang out for as long as we like before heading to the other pier for sea food dinner. We'll probably be back to Central by 9pm (if you are staying for dinner). Bring snacks, drinks, swimming suit/trunk, shades, towel etc. |

Dragon's Back at Dragon's Back on 13 Feb 2000 Dragon's Back is the ridge of a mountain and thus provides a very clear and beautiful view of both side of the mountain.
Details: 10km, ~2 1/2 hours, very gentle walk. From To Tei Wan, through Dragon's back to Tai Tam Gap, take a look at the Rock Carving before heading to Shek O for lunch. Beautiful views guaranteed. Please bring some snacks and water with you. How was Hiking trip 00#02 Feb 13 Sunday Dragon's Back? 16 people turned up on Feb 13. The temperature was fine, but the first section was very windy, it got better towards the 2nd half. The view was absolutely fabulous. We got to Tai Long Wan a little bit later than we planned and 10 people went ahead to have lunch at Shek O. Unfortunately, I had to go back to the office and could not join the group for lunch. |

Discovery Bay at Discovery Bay on 9 Aprili 2000 Hike from Discovery Bay to Silver Mine Bay and take a ferry back from Mui Wo to Central by 5:30pm. Gentle walk and we shall pass by a missionary that was once famous for its dairy products. Bring snacks and drinks
How was Hiking trip 00#03 April 9 Rediscovering the Discovery Bay? 7 people turned up. It was a beautiful day as we slowly pathed our way towards Silvermine bay. We saw some interesting religious gathering near the missionary. We tried out the famious missionary brand milk which was very refreshing. At the end of the walk, we relaxed and had drinks at a hotel by the beach. We took the ferry back to Central and sat on the top deck with open top and very nice view and gentle breeze. |

22 people turned up on a beautiful Saturday morning, couldn't ask for a better day as it was sunny but not humid. We left Sai Kung Pier a little bit late and arrived at Leung Shun Wan around 12 where we had a delicious sea food lunch at very reasonable cost, yum yum. We then went to a quiet beach nearby to enjoy the sun, sand and water. Everyone had a great time, I only wish we could spend more time at the beach. Afterward, some of us enjoyed deserts at a reknown restaurant called 'Moon Kai' in Sai Kung, it's mango pan cake is highly recommended. |
