18 people turned up on a warm December Saturday, the walk was very pleasent and not difficult at all, we saw beautiful scenary and had afternoon tea near a fishing village. Another great hike suggested by Arthur.

Our annual BBQ event at HKUST hosted by Charles. This is we have booked 2 sites and almost 30 people :-)
Violet Hill at Violet Hill on 5 Nov 2005
We have about 30 people turned up on a beautiful sunny day (it felt like summer!). The initial climb was quite demanding, and we got fantastic view of the mountains. The path became easier as we got closer to Stanley and the scenery continued to be spectacular. Finally, we reached Stanley and had some cold drinks and snacks, and just enjoyed the company and conversation.
Trail description by Arthur:
This is one of the most popular and scenic trails on the Hong Kong Island. The first 40 minutes may be a little bit steep (not too difficult though) but you will soon be rewarded by the sublime views of Deep Water Bay, Repulse Bay and Nam Bay on an extended flat path. We will end the trip at Stanley where a short relaxing tea-break can be taken

Organised by Louisa.
Tung Lung Island at Tung Lung Island on 4 Sept 2005
Though it rained in the morning and remained cloudy in the afternoon, it didn't rain when we left Sai Wan Ho. With over 20 people calling in to cancel, 14 of us plus a baby went ahead with the trip . We had a great time visiting the fort and the stone carving of Tung Lung Island with no rain, and it was good exercise walking down the hill to see the carving, the natural scenary of the island was much appreciated. The Sun was shining during the later part of our hike. I also like the 30-min boat ride each way, esp. sitting on the top deck of the boat.
Boat trip - Mentorship program 2005 at Lamma Island on 31 July 2005
Snorkelling, Squidding - Sai Kung at Sai Kung on 30 July 2005

Lamma Island - Sok Kwu Wan to Yung Shae Wan at Lamma Island on 4 June 2005
It rained heavily in the morning and continued to rain. Though the weather was not perfect, we enjoyed doing something outdoor anyway!
Tap Mun (Grass Island) at Tap Mun on 23 April 2005
26 people turned up. We headed off from the KCR University station to Ma Liu Shiu pier, it took about 75 mins to reach Tap Mun (after serveral stops). Tap Mun is a beautiful island with good scenary and we were quite surprised how well the island is pathed with clear signs. The interesting scenic spots include Balanced rock and Tin Hau Temple.

Discovery Bay to Silver Mine Bay - Lantau Island at Lantau Island on 27 March 2005
15 people turned up on a cool day. Though there wasn't much Sun shine, it was good that it didn't rain either. We all had a great day and enjoyed the 2-hour hike.

Relaxing boat rides, nice walk with great sea view, lots of trees and good exercise. We walked pass the Trappist Haven Monastery, they once had a local brand milk of the same name. At the end of the walk, we relaxed and had afternoon teaat a Mui Wo Inn by the beach. Took the ferry back to Central.

The boat rides were surprisingly stable.
Plover Cover Country Park: Lai Chi Wo (荔枝窩) at Tai Po on Sun 16 Jan 2005
8 people turned up at Tai Po Market KCR and then one more met up with us at Bride's Pool. We started our trip at Bride's Pool Trail. After passing through several villages like Wu Kau Tang, Kau Tam Tso, and Sam A Chung which was an excellent site for watching butterflies, we reached the Yan Chau Tong Marine Park, often regarded as the "Guilin in Hong Kong". We took a break at the interesting village Lai Chi Wo, where simple lunch was served. The place is also well known for its nearby mangrove plantation. We departed via Fan Shui Au and Kuk Po Village to Luk Keng where flocks of egret can sometimes be seen. After having tofu at a food store we take the minubus to Fan Lan. The whole event takes about 7 hours.
