We were told that Triglav National Park is Slovenia's only gazetted national park (Slovenia has 40 national parks). It contains the highest mountain in Slovenia - Triglav (2864m).

Bled refers to both the town and the lake. It is a very beautiful place though it has become very very touristy. It was first mentioned in historical documents in the year 1004. It's tourism was first developed when a Swiss doctor Arnold Rikli established a Spa bath here in 1855. Lake Bled also houses the only island (very small) in Slovenia, on which a church was built.

We had problems pronuncing the city name Ljubljana until we heard how others pronunce it, the letter j sounds like letter y in English. Ljubljana is the economic and cultural captial of Slovenia. It is also the largest and most populous city of Slovenia.
