Hiking 02#02: Sat 9 Mar 02 Lun Fu Shan Chinese Medicine Garden To The Peak
  • Time and Date: 2pm Sun 21 Apr
  • Meeting place: Hong Kong University Entrance at Bonham Road
  • How to get there: Take bus No. 3B, 23, 40, 40M, 103 and get off at Bonham Road, Hong Kong University
  • Difficulty: 1 (1-5, 1 = easy)
  • Time: ~2hrs walking time
  • Description: We will first visit the University Museum and Art Gallery at Hong Kong University, then to the Chinese Herbal Medicine plantation area in Lun Fu Shan. All the herbal medicines are clearly labelled. We will then hike our way to The Peak and enjoy afternoon tea there before heading down the hill by tram or otherwise

How was hiking 02#02: Sat 9 Mar 2002 Wan Chai to Abedeen Reservoir?

Trip plan: At interesting walk starting with the old Wan Chai Post office turned Museum, then follow the Wan Chai Gap Road to a Park of the same name and the Police Museum. We will then visit the Abedeen Country Park and continue our journey to Abedeen Reservoir.
Bring snacks and water

Trip report: 8 people turned up on a warm sunny day. The trail was easy to find, the initial part was actually pretty steep and we were going at a fast pace. Some of attendants needed an extended rest at Po Wan Path. We then continued our trip to the Wan Chai Gap Park and proceeded to the Police Museum which housed some interesting items and photos of the Hong Kong Police Force. These include displays on drugs, fake currency, triads, bomb defusing unit and more. We spent as much time as was needed to appreciate all the exhibits in this small museum. We then passed through the Abedeen Reservior before reaching our destination, Abedeen.
